How is coffee traded in the country where coffee tree actually comes from? We checked the situation in the capital city of Addis Abeba as well as in the southeast of the country on our journeys.
Ethiopia is a wonderful country and despite it being troubled by political unrest, we are happy to be involved. While travelling in Ethiopia, we established ongoing relationships with the Semalo Pride, Bombe, Shantawene and many other processing stations. Over a long period, our friend Michael McIntyre has been helping them to experiment with unusual processing methods. Therefore, our offer includes washed, natural and honey coffees. Thanks to the new laws passed in 2018, the transparency of coffee from unions, co-operatives, processing stations and individual farmers has been growing.
